  2. Can I supply the wood for my sign?
Sure! We often get a request to make a sign out of wood that came from the tree in front of Grandma's house, or from a tree that was cleared to build the cabin, stood on the old farm or homeplace, or is somehow special to the customer. It doesn't have to be cedar, we can work with most woods.

We need a piece of wood that is flat, not bowed or warped. If the piece is thick enough, we can plane it down to make it flat. We recommend starting with wood at least 5/4" thick (1 1/4") or thicker if it needs to be flattened. We can make signs from wood as thick as 5" and 10' long if needed.

It will take extra time to prepare your board for carving and depending on what we need to do to get the wood blank ready to carve, there could be some extra cost involved.

Obviously for very large signs, it will be easier if you are local enough to deliver the wood to our shop near Rogers, AR. It's relatively inexpensive to ship items less than 4' long via UPS or Fedex, but the cost climbs on larger items.
